Previously, this had been a black and yellow tiled bathroom that was very characteristic of houses built in the 1940s. The shower was enclosed, like a phone booth, and had been sectioned off from the toilet/sink area, as was often the style. Deciding to remove the wall that partitioned the shower from the rest of the bathroom, meant having to relocate vent and drain pipes. However, in doing so, the bathroom dramatically opened up visually and the selection of new tile for the floor and shower updated the space while keeping its original charm.
